During Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many financial challenges to fellow Malaysians.

On the back of surging Covid-19 cases of more than 20,000 new cases reported daily and the reimposition of nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO 3.0) from May 12 by full lockdown until further notice, many businesses are forced to either closed down permanently or scaled down their operations significantly. This has impacted employees who are faced with either retrenchment or suffer pay cut.

Many of these business owners have started to change their business model from offline to online and employees turning into entrepreneurs … starting a food truck, photography, personal computer and smart phone repair, pet grooming or other micro and small businesses are now common reasons for business startup.

Our Malaysian Government have been working hard to support these existing and new micro and small businesses (MSMEs) too. “Permulih” economic stimulation packages, Prihatin Special Grant (PSG), Government guarantee scheme administered by Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad (SJPP), Enhancement of micro-loans financing facilities by Bank Simpanan Nasional, AgroBank and National Entrepreneur Group Economic Fund and Pemerkasa Plus package for loan moratorium relating to MSMEs are among many of the initiatives announced by the Malaysian Government.

Azio e-Pay would like to do our part to support these MSMEs and individuals too.

Hence, the introduction of Azio – Financial Reliefs Assistance Programme (AFRAP), effective from 7 July 2021.
